Urdd

URDD GOBAITH CYMRU

In partnership with Bridgend County Borough Council and Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Llangynwyd, the Urdd Sports department provides a range of sporting opportunities for the school’s learners. As a department we offer:

 5×60 Provision:

Weekly sessions offer opportunities for learners to be more active, socialise and increase confidence in physical activities. These sessions are open to all learners Yr. 7-9.

Girls’ Project:

The girls’ project offers various opportunities for girls to take part in numerous activities with the aim of eliminating any barriers that young girls often face in being active. The girls’ network meets once a week to discuss and plan weekly activities to ensure the best opportunities for girls in school.

Young Leaders programme:

The young Leaders programme has been established in order to support the development of our Year 9 + learners in partnership with Llangynwyd School and the Urdd sports clubs. This programme provides clear learning opportunities and provides learners with the opportunity to develop their leadership skills to a high standard and to ensure the best possible support to become the sports leaders of the future.
